Strain

When someone experiences stress and feels like they can’t cope with it, they may have a negative reaction called “strain” (Fletcher et al., 2006). Strain can affect a person’s thoughts, feelings, and actions (Hanton & Neil, 2019). When someone experiences to much strain, they may feel physical symptoms like sweating or having a faster heartbeat, or psychological symptoms like being worried or anxious. They may even avoid certain tasks or responsibilities or getting angry at others. (Hanton & Neil, 2019).
