Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), a special case
of factor analysis, is a statistical technique to analyze
correlations between a variety of variables to identify a
reduced number of underlying (latent) dimensions,
which are called ‘factors.’ CFA is utilized in order to
model the fit or the consistency between a researcher’s
definition of a construct (i.e., latent variable/s) and the
observed/manifest variables.
